Tanya ‘Sweet T’ Winley is widely known as the first female solo rap recording artist. Her single “Vicious Rap” was released in November 1979 and was recorded for Paul Winley Records which was owned by her father.


Marlon ‘Marley Marl’ Williams is the Founder of Cold Chillin’ Records and is one of Hip Hop’s greatest producers. Marley Marl had a dope roster of emcees including Dana Dane, Biz Markie, Roxanne Shante, MC Shan, and Masta Ace. He made sampling popular after creating the instrumental for what we know to be ‘The Bridge’. For his work on the album “Mama Said Knock You Out” he won a Grammy in 1990. Working on ‘Mr. Magic’s Rap Attack’ he did his own radio show ‘In Control’. He teamed up with Pete Rock for Hot 97’s ‘Future Flavas’ all the while producing into the late nineties for artists like Rakim and Fat Joe.
