Will the real Tupac Amaru Shakur please stand up! Remember when Lil Zane came out rapping like 2Pac and the Rap community was in an uproar? It is the year 2017 and Joey BadA$$ is the next Rapper hungry for a media firestorm. Joey released his album ALL-AMERIKKAN BADA$$ last week but the Brooklyn born emcee has been on a tirade about how much better of an emcee he is than Brother Shakur. Now this organization exist because we want to uphold the true standards of the culture, even when everyone else is afraid or unable to do so. See we aren’t risking anything because we are on the outside looking in from the point of view of a fan and we have nothing to lose but Hip Hop Culture. So you won’t see any emcee come forth and speak up against the words of Mr. Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott because they don’t want to look like an old hater. Well let me tell you all something that is the problem with the older generation; we are so buys getting bullied and punked into a stance that we lose the integrity of the culture. The only person who I know isn’t getting bullied and punked by the new generation is Pete Rock, the number one soul brother!
How do we allow a twenty-two year old kid to dictate to us, the people who lived through the Pac and Biggie era, how great of an emcee Tupac is?! Tupac didn’t die for us to downplay his legacy. Next to Bob Marley Tupac Shakur is probably the most globally recognized musician of all time. Did we forget? I didn’t. Just because a flow is new to the current generation does not mean we get amnesia when someone says that Migos are using the same flow popularized by Three 6 Mafia’s Lord Infamous. We didn’t forget Biggie’s legacy when Shyne came out. This is not Nottingham, Joey isn’t Robin Hood, and Pro Era does not consist of merry men. (Figuratively not literally) Since when do we dumb down the legacy of one of the greatest emcees of all time based off of what a kid believes? Do you change your mind about dinner because your five year old says they could make a lasagna better than you or your wife? Rapper talk all the time about they used to be in the streets but the excuse is “I’m a family wo/man now”, are you? Lies and/or excuses!
I know some people don’t like to say “what if” but what if Tupac Shakur was alive today? Do you all really think that Joey would say he’s better than him or if Pac would even let him get away with saying it, come on son! If you think so you weren’t a Rap fan from 1990-1998; I don’t believe you, you need more people! Tupac Shakur was inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame on Friday and it was not as great as it could’ve and should’ve been but what do I know I’m just a Rap fan. Maybe it’s because Pac repped the West so hard New York is still upset so they are letting Joey talk reckless. I don’t know I’m just trying to make sense of it all. When Lil Yachty said that Biggie was overrated the Hip Hop community was ready to throw him overboard. Sounds suspect to me. If someone calls you an emcees belong to a noble class of Rappers but some of them forget that nobility is not a birth-right, it is defined by one’s actions.
